People often inquire about where the name 'Hand Honey' came from, and most of the time we just laugh or make up an answer. Honestly, it was born from the humor and sarcasm that lives within the band and really doesn’t mean anything. 'Hand Honey' means something different to everyone and can be left open to one’s own interpretation, depending on what your mind-set is. What 'Hand Honey' really is, is a 5-piece Alternative/Rock band hailing from Panama City, Florida. The band was formed in April of 2001 and has amassed a fan base that increases with every fun and high-energy show, packing nightclubs throughout the Panama City area. However, we are not content to just entertain in our hometown; we want to showcase our original work throughout the country. Our music is very melodic and heavy at times, while the lyrics express something that every person can relate to. In March 2002, the finishing touches were put on our 5-song debut EP release; 'Crazy Palm Mute'. Even before the recording process was finished, our first single 'In Your Head' was played on local rock radio stations 97X and 94.5 Pirate Radio. It followed with phenomenal responses from fans as well as regular radio listeners. On May 31, 2002, the band publicly released 'Crazy Palm Mute' to a crowd of 300+ at Chubby’s on Panama City Beach. Over 150 CDs were sold that night alone, along with countless amounts of t-shirts, band photos, and stickers. This is an incredible number considering how hard it is to sell original music in a 'Spring Break' town. Recently we have been showcased in two local newspapers, the Panama City News Herald and the Gulf Defender. (These articles can be viewed on our web site.) In addition to our heavy show schedule, we are currently working on music and production for our first full length CD, due out in 2003, so stay tuned ... this is just the beginning . . .
